We all find times when our mind and body are in misalignment and we seek to reconnect with ourselves. This can be done many ways and often takes a good sense of what makes us feel more in tune with who we are. What does that look like for us and what can we do to create opportunities to bring forth our true nature?
I have found that within myself is a clear yearning to connect with a conciousness that allows me to be at peace. What I seek is peace of mind, a peace of mind that allows me to be content within my day and in the interactions that I have with everyone. I contemplate throughout my day and reflect on myself, taking time to ask myself what messages I am saying to myself and how I am treating others. Am I being judgemental? Have I acted with kindness? Do I exhibit understanding and compassion?
Meditating is a well-known method by which we can find the spirit within. This does not have to be silent or force one to sit for long periods of time and challenge your ability to empty your mind. It can be found in a chant, a passage for the day that you reflect on or a mantra for example. Walking meditations are a wonderful way to clear your mind and give you a sense of peace. This involves walking in slowly and deliberately placing one foot in front of the other heel to toe carefully touching the ground. This offers one the opportunity to become conscious of our body and mind connection.
Spiritual practices are a personal journey and can become a part of ones life in whatever form creates that space for you to develop a stronger connection with your inner spirit within. Its an open invitation from the universe to extend yourself beyond your physical self and enter into a dialogue with a higher power.
