So we all know that we inevitably face the prospects of going to our doctor at least once a year. For some of us this occurs more often and regularly as we monitor our bellies for signs of discomforts. Mentally I find it a challenge each and every time.  I can never say I completely look forward to it even when I feel accomplished in my progress, perhaps I’ve gained weight after a bout of a flare or  managed to avoid the onset of further complications. Going to the doctors is a chore and one that I find myself needing to gear my mind and body up for the experience.
I think its often the unknown of it all that makes the fear within my belly come alive and sends me questioning and my mind whirling. To ease my mind I prepare for my visit. One important tool that has helped me to organize and chart my progress has been the use of a calendar notebook.
With this notebook I jot down what I eat, my bowels and any discomforts that I have have experienced. Within this notebook are also my doctors notes, so that I can refer to the last visit and write down any questions that I may have about my condition. Having this tool as a frame of reference also allows me to look back and see how far I have come. Its comforting to know that I have endured much more in months far behind me and that each month I begin again, with a new opportunity to enjoy my health once again.
I encourage you to create your own tool to chart your progress that you will find useful in assisting you in following your health progress.
