Opening a New Door

There are times in our journey towards health where we find ourselves needing to shift our direction in one we may not have attempted before.  This can be scary and leave us filled with fear.  Fear by itself I have found to be an unhealthy approach to take when faced with a new experience because it can often sever the opportunities that lie ahead.

Recently I embarked on a new approach to my health.  I have invited in the opportunity to explore new modalities of healing which opened the door to the possibility of new people coming into my life and sharing in my pursuit of better health.  Having moved back to New York to be closer to family while pursing my interests, I have reached out to a local support groups of people with similar health conditions as well as other health related interests.  I hope that by doing so I can broaden my learning of how others are finding their way on their journey and share of my own experiences.

Reaching out to others with which you gain by sharing in a community can be an opportunity towards improving our health.  There are other ways to experience a new direction, perhaps try a new food group, spice or ingredient to your palate, explore an exercise practice outside of your comfort zone or  add a new form of meditation into your day.  Literature or films can also be a chance to welcome the curiosity within and serve as an opportunity for new experiences to happen for you.

When we find that we have reached a point when we need to find new and different ways of approaching ourselves, let us be willing to refocus through a wider lens of possibilities that can come when we embark in a new direction.

What new doors have you walked through lately and what have you discovered?

Please share.
