To All the Fathers in our lives, may we take the opportunity to enjoy them in good health and follow their guidance for living a full life.
Here is what my father has bestowed upon me for good health:
When you walk down the street, walk good, do so with your head up, back straight and with a sense of purpose; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Travel, travel, travel, travel with your eyes, your nose, your taste buds with your whole being; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Reach out to people of new and different cultures and take a page from their lives, and make it your own; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Ask for what you want out of life and go for it with every bone of your body and when you get it thank your ancestors for the fortitude you inherited; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Get your education, study hard, learn all you can, ignorance is unhealthy; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
We are too poor to buy cheap, so always buy quality; it will be more expensive in the long run if you don’t; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Respect yourself first and those you love and ask for this most of all out of every relationship you have in life; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
When you have to choose between a black shirt and yellow, choose yellow, always go for color; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Every good meal deserves an equally good beverage, preferably a Malbec but in my case a Fair-Trade Organic Tea will do nicely; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
When sitting at a restaurant, order what you like and if its not enjoyable politely ask them to take it back, never force yourself to eat; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Chew, Chew, Chew; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Your health is the most important thing you have, when you die you can’t take what you got with you, so focus on what is important and get the most out of your life; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Work hard and commit yourself to what you love to do, when the pleasure is gone, reinvent yourself; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Creativity is so important, learn about art, find your own creative outlet and surround yourself with what inspires you; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
No one can make you happy, only you have the key to that door so look no further than yourself, all else that comes along is bonus; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Respect where you come from, your heritage, never be ashamed of who you are, act with pride; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Do the best you can every day, that’s all you can do; MY FATHER TAUGHT ME THAT.
Rediscover the fatherly advice in your life with those you love and ask yourself how you can become a more healthy individual by following in their footsteps.
In health,
Safara
