So here we are on a cold, winter February day, in the tundra of Michigan is where I am writing from, siting next to my wacky, dearest Besty…she is my best friend, for over 20 years and recently really proved herself as my BEST FRIEND.
As I have been crawling out of the well of illness these past few months, she has dropped me a rope and I have been crawling out with more light hitting my eyes and feeling more myself with each coming day.
Here is her recipe for how to bring good “Juju” to yourself, meaning how to bring light, love and good energy within yourself when you just need it.
She decided that the best way on a negative windchill day was to bring me to one of the lakes of Michigan shores. She had finger pom poms…have you ever heard of finger pom poms? Well needless to say they are absolutely necessary for a good “Juju” experience. So here is what you need:
a friend
then add the following natural elements
sun-10 minutes of natural vit D
water- preferable fresh water, not necessarily flowing as I witnessed on this bone chilling day ie it can be frozen!
birds- of any variety
gentle sounds-which could even be the sound of the wind or the snow crunching or the wind freezing your face as it runs by your ears
cozy wear- comfortable, preferably natural fabrics to wear on your body. this may mean several layers of clothing, particularly for a cold winter stroll
something to document- a journal, camera, a reflection piece you can take with you to reflect on afterwards.
Follow this experience with a nice meal, a laugh, a chat with your friend and perhaps a nice snooze and you have good “juju” coming your way. This is a way I experience the “me.”
So come join me and let me know how you got your “juju” with your friends and family.
