When we are ill we look to others for support and guidance to help find our way to what will lead us to better our health. We turn to various types of practitioners, our family and community with the hopes that they may bring us insight into our condition and provide suggestions.
When we do so we bring ourselves to others with the intent of an open heart and mind. We are searching, looking for clues that will lead us to fit together the missing pieces to the mixed up puzzle that has become our well-being. We are hopeful and grateful for the help that comes our way, even as we may struggle with what we discover.
In my own experience this process has been lengthy and has led me to find reason as well as doubt within many circles of thought about my condition. I have taken the care to listen but sometimes I have found myself uncomfortable with the information and unsure what to do. With this I have found that it is best to sit with myself and ask my inner guide for help. To quiet my mind and reflect and then proceed.
We may not always have the answers for ourselves, but what we can rely on is our inner sense of knowing about what is right for us. We due well to consider ourselves “the captain of our own ship”. To look at our health as we do our life and remind ourselves that each step is for our own to take with intention and knowing. By insuring that we follow our hearts and abide by our values and best judgements we further protect our health and keep ourselves open and honest with the community of loved ones who are by our side to assist us.
By following such a practice we take responsibility for our health and that is where healing really begins.
So how have you found yourself leading your own path to health? Due share.
