{"id":950,"date":"2013-08-17T09:00:15","date_gmt":"2013-08-17T13:00:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=950"},"modified":"2013-08-16T18:05:55","modified_gmt":"2013-08-16T22:05:55","slug":"gaining-flexibility-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=950","title":{"rendered":"Gaining Flexibility &#038; Health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/being-flexible.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-952\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/being-flexible-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>You may have read this title and thought it would be about the physical aspects of our bodies as we work to heal.\u00a0 The importance of exercising our muscles each day. The need for us to make flexibility a practice in our daily lives.\u00a0 In a way yes I am suggesting we increase our flexibility in\u00a0our routines.<\/p>\n<p>When we are unwell limitations are set upon\u00a0how we go about our daily life and this eventually becomes our new\u00a0&#8220;normal.&#8221;\u00a0 Our lives with our\u00a0 &#8220;dis-ease&#8221;\u00a0becomes our new reality.\u00a0 In adopting our new &#8220;norm&#8221; we\u00a0put routines into\u00a0practice.\u00a0 We find ways to go about meeting our daily needs that work in concert with our challenges.<\/p>\n<p>Take for example food.\u00a0\u00a0Anyone with a digestive disorder can attest to the caution we take when we approach what we eat\u00a0when\u00a0we go to a restaurant.\u00a0 We look for what ingredients are listed and run down a series of lists of things we have on our do not list.\u00a0 We then check in with ourselves and make sure our bellies are feeling alright and can receive the food before sitting down to a nice meal.\u00a0 All of this is necessary, but what I would like to suggest is that we allow ourselves a bit more flexibility in how we approach this process.<\/p>\n<p>If we come from a fear-based mentality each time we look to see what we can eat we are setting ourselves up to not enjoy ourselves.\u00a0 We are creating the perfect atmosphere for our bodies to reject the food, no matter how appropriate.\u00a0 If our &#8220;do not list&#8221; becomes so long that we find ourselves eating the same thing every day we are setting limitations that make enjoyment impossible.<\/p>\n<p>By adopting an attitude of flexibility we may find that we have more options that what we previously thought.\u00a0 We may consider more ways to review the menu.\u00a0\u00a0We can approach the waitstaff with an open mind and ask for their selections ordering a dish or two for variety and choice.<\/p>\n<p>Being flexible means applying a gentler spirit to ourselves and this can only enhance our healing\u00a0 opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>In health,<\/p>\n<p>Safara<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>You may have read this title and thought it would be about the physical aspects of our bodies as we [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1],"tags":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/950"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=950"}],"version-history":[{"count":6,"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/950\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":957,"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/950\/revisions\/957"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=950"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=950"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=950"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
