{"id":313,"date":"2012-02-26T09:00:33","date_gmt":"2012-02-26T16:00:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=313"},"modified":"2012-02-25T15:45:40","modified_gmt":"2012-02-25T22:45:40","slug":"eats-and-greets-tuscon-az","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=313","title":{"rendered":"Romance and Spoonsful of Yum Tuscon, AZ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/curry-carrot-soup-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-317\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/curry-carrot-soup-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/curry-carrot-soup-2-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/curry-carrot-soup-2.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>I just returned from what was a most beautiful trip to our neighboring Tuscon.\u00c2\u00a0 This little gem of a city is bursting with things to do and wonderful places to nestle yourself in some good eats and fun.\u00c2\u00a0 The pace is laid back, people are friendly and patiently say their words with calm and genuine intention.<\/p>\n<p>My boyfriend and I traveled there this weekend to celebrate my birthday and found ourselves returning to restaurant that we had visited earlier in the Fall when I was unwell.\u00c2\u00a0 The restaurant is called <em>La Cocina <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/lacocinatucson.com\/\">http:\/\/lacocinatucson.com\/<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0(note their website is fairly new-still being tweaked).\u00c2\u00a0 Nestled in what is called the Old Town Artisan it is a beautifully spot to come for a romantic dinner.\u00c2\u00a0 Tables and chairs are arranged outdoors under a tree lit up with twinkling lights.\u00c2\u00a0 Entertainment is set on a stage near by and the atmosphere is cozy and quaint.\u00c2\u00a0 Now the icing on the cake is the food.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Served by wonderful staff,\u00c2\u00a0 a\u00c2\u00a0dish to try is the quinoa and sauteed vegetables that\u00c2\u00a0I found\u00c2\u00a0delicate and scrumptious.\u00c2\u00a0This paired with an\u00c2\u00a0h&#8217;odeurve of\u00c2\u00a0a roasted artichoke\u00c2\u00a0and\u00c2\u00a0a salad makes for a delicious meal.\u00c2\u00a0The owner of the restaurant\u00c2\u00a0takes pride in her\u00c2\u00a0cooking and you can tell with each bite.<\/p>\n<p>The other restaurant that had me singing was\u00c2\u00a0<em>Lovin&#8217; Spoonfuls\u00c2\u00a0<\/em>\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/lovinspoonfuls.com\/index.htm\">http:\/\/lovinspoonfuls.com\/index.htm<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0which is an all vegetarian restaurant.\u00c2\u00a0 You name it she&#8217;s got it!\u00c2\u00a0 I was delighted at the choices on the menu of which many are vegan.\u00c2\u00a0 There is also a gluten-free menu available or pairing that you can take from the menu and add to your entree.\u00c2\u00a0 The atmosphere is casual and one of welcome.\u00c2\u00a0 I particularly liked the availability of literature to read while you eat, Vegetarian Times, books on vegetables, pamphlets and newspapers regarding vegetarian lifestyle.\u00c2\u00a0 The owner of the spot is also a wonderful smile of a lady.\u00c2\u00a0 I enjoyed a soup of curry carrot soup that was amazing, absolutely one of the best I&#8217;ve ever had.\u00c2\u00a0 I could have nestled myself there for hours.<\/p>\n<p>The final spot\u00c2\u00a0we ventured with our bellies to was\u00c2\u00a0a place to pick up our last minute road bites.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0The place is called the Food Conspiracy Co-op\u00c2\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.foodconspiracy.coop\/about\/\">http:\/\/www.foodconspiracy.coop\/about\/<\/a>\u00c2\u00a0and it is a longstanding co-op of the neighborhood with a conscious ethic on providing quality groceries and produce while focusing on making it accessible and local.\u00c2\u00a0 Wonderful assortments of veggies can be found along with bulk nuts and grains and some prepared foods that you can take along to enjoy some of the local flavors you may have missed along the way.<\/p>\n<p>So enjoy your weekend escape to Tuscon and browse these galleries of goodies\u00c2\u00a0to feast your belly with a delightful meal or two, or three&#8230;
