{"id":302,"date":"2012-02-19T09:00:17","date_gmt":"2012-02-19T16:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=302"},"modified":"2012-02-12T20:17:58","modified_gmt":"2012-02-13T03:17:58","slug":"garlic-the-stinky-rose-is-for-lovers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=302","title":{"rendered":"Garlic &#8220;the stinky rose&#8221; is for lovers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/garlic.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-308\" title=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/02\/garlic-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>In the spirit of all things that are lovable I present you with one herb that has held\u00c2\u00a0a special place\u00c2\u00a0 in my heart,\u00c2\u00a0the garlic\u00c2\u00a0clove.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0It has been referred to as the &#8220;stinking rose&#8221;, but I would be hard pressed to find how such a beauty for an herb\u00c2\u00a0could command any such title by way of its wonderful properties and commanding use\u00c2\u00a0of the senses.<\/p>\n<p>Garlic is a fairly underestimated herb in its medicinal usages packed with healing\u00c2\u00a0properties.\u00c2\u00a0 It can\u00c2\u00a0help to clear up your cold, your sniffle,\u00c2\u00a0cut down\u00c2\u00a0your flu-like symptoms\u00c2\u00a0and clear out congestion and bacteria.\u00c2\u00a0 Its a wonderful tonic to add to your daily routine ensuring yourself\u00c2\u00a0with a good dose of\u00c2\u00a0immune support to begin your day.<\/p>\n<p>Garlic is as deliciously good for you as it is good tasting.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0It can be consumed a number of ways.\u00c2\u00a0 Its versatile, a beautiful herb to cook with as its aroma alone makes your senses tune into its aroma with an undeniable wish for more.<\/p>\n<p>Uncooked and raw is how I enjoy it most of the times.\u00c2\u00a0 I cut up a clove and put it in my salad or combine it with ginger, sesame oil and other herbs and spices for a good dressing.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0I also like to include it in my juices.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Pressing it through\u00c2\u00a0 my juicer it adds a bite to my veggie concoction and is particularly good with spinach, kale and a bit of lemon.\u00c2\u00a0 Tangy comes to mind when I think of how this meets my senses.\u00c2\u00a0 Alternatively, I crush it and add it to a bowl of soon to be dehydrated veggies.\u00c2\u00a0 Crunchy pieces of garlic mix in with veggie chips are a garlic lovers heaven.\u00c2\u00a0 If the thought of eating it raw doesn&#8217;t quite move you to grab one to go, consider taking a clove and a nice apple, parring a slice of apple and garlic together.
