{"id":1513,"date":"2015-07-19T09:00:36","date_gmt":"2015-07-19T13:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=1513"},"modified":"2015-07-19T08:19:35","modified_gmt":"2015-07-19T12:19:35","slug":"reaching-out-a-healthy-act","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=1513","title":{"rendered":"Reaching Out: A Healthy Act"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-1515\" src=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/reaching-out-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Good day to you all on this beautiful summer morning.\u00a0 Wherever you may be right now taking this very moment with me as you sit and read this blog, I thank you.<\/p>\n<p>Today&#8217;s blog is expressed to encourage us all to reach out to others in our journey of health.\u00a0 When we are on a health and healing pathway a lot of what we begin to experience is unknown to us.\u00a0 These physical and emotional sensations are often unpleasant as the result of the changes that are occurring.<\/p>\n<p>In response, we often find that we gravitate inward.\u00a0 We may physically do this by way of confining ourselves to our homes or resting place.\u00a0 Emotionally our minds and hearts can feel overburdened by what we are experiencing and\u00a0expressing ourselves\u00a0becomes less frequent or under extreme duress we may shut\u00a0them off\u00a0completely.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;d like to encourage us to consider reaching out as an\u00a0 act of compassion and kindness towards ourselves that\u00a0maintains\u00a0a healthy life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Growing Relationships<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When we take the steps to allow\u00a0others\u00a0to become a part of the healing we are\u00a0creating openings for our relationships\u00a0evolve and grow.\u00a0 \u00a0This is important to not just ourselves but others in our lives.\u00a0 We are inviting them to participate in our life in a way that extends the boundaries of our relationships to include more intimacy.\u00a0 This requires a degree of trust.\u00a0 For each of us this barometer is measured on an individualistic basis.\u00a0 What is important is that we seek in our relationships to build such trust.\u00a0 We make it a goal and reflect on it as an intentional act to further create a more loving community amongst us.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Consistent Awareness of Others<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The healing journey that we take towards improving our health is ongoing.\u00a0\u00a0When people ask me\u00a0what path\u00a0in my healing journey I am on I say continuous because\u00a0I believe there is\u00a0no beginning and end.\u00a0\u00a0The journey is each day\u00a0and how I greet the day and create\u00a0that experience is a measure of my health.\u00a0 What I seek is to\u00a0maintain a\u00a0consistent awareness.<\/p>\n<p>Each day that we meet ourselves on our healing pathway we encounter others who in little and big ways have nurtured our well-being.\u00a0 It can be as simple as the kind person who bagged our groceries that we have not brought home to cook a meal to sooth our bellies.\u00a0 This simple act of kindness creates your day.\u00a0 It defines how you feel and how you feel directly affects how well you receive healing.\u00a0By being aware of this we become more conscious of\u00a0others\u00a0and the role they\u00a0play in our lives.\u00a0 This act\u00a0is a performance of health.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reaching Out Creates A Safety Net<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Our communities are extensions of ourselves.\u00a0 When we build a loving and supportive group of people to surround us we ensure that when we are taking care of ourselves and each other.\u00a0 This becomes a &#8220;safety net&#8221; that in times of difficulty can be very helpful.\u00a0 We may not want to reach out to others for fear\u00a0that\u00a0this expresses our vulnerability and\u00a0that they may know we need them\u00a0but\u00a0we can address this by looking within.<\/p>\n<p>We can reverse the\u00a0scenario and ask ourselves if they were in need would\u00a0we want to be there?\u00a0 With each person that we invite\u00a0to become\u00a0a part of our\u00a0&#8220;safety net&#8221;
