I landed on the couch admitting defeat to myself and the universe with the verse “I surrender.”

The very next morning a path was revealed.

I share this moment in its entire unfolding to reflect on the very nature of what I have found to be at the center of what makes for a healthy life. The ability to let go and let GOD. Taking care of yourself; body, mind and soul by giving yourself the freedom to be less controlling and more accepting of what is.

I use GOD as I have done in other blogs in the sense of all that encompasses that “other” source from which whether we know it or not, or choose to acknowledge it or not; guides us forward. The direction may not be one we have sought or chosen for ourselves and may leave us with a big question mark. It may have us in disbelief and wondering how is it that we arrived at this point.

I’ve heard it been said, “GOD writes straight with wavy lines.” Even as we may find that our lives are taking us in directions that we feel unclear about; we do ourselves the best possible good to trust and walk forward.

When we find ourselves with the challenge of temptation to straighten what is meant to curve and bend; we do better to stand back and say “ok” with gratitude. When we do we are taking care of our peace of mind and heart while acknowledging that we have done all we can with our full self. We are less likely to punish ourselves for not figuring it all out; and more likely to embrace and positively reflect on all the efforts we have made in our best interest.

When we do we can begin to clear our minds and see the possibilities. We can take the pieces of what we see and visualize them like a puzzle laid out before us on a table and place them in a new pattern of hope and curiosity. With fresh eyes and a perspective anew we can appreciate that which we see as the direction for our highest good and greatest self.

When we do we are honoring our internal self to know and do what we feel is right for us and then allow the external guidance we are receiving to work its way through us with ease. This approach to navigating our possibilities follows a healthy pattern by which to create a mosaic of our life.

So when life finds you feeling frustrated without the sense of knowing just where you are and where you are meant to go; you can do yourself best by staying positive and reminding yourself that the clearing is just around the bend; by doing so we keep walking forward and allow it to be revealed.

In health,

Safara

Last week I stood in the presences of the universe with a cross look on my face. I was utterly […]

[3
