{"id":1249,"date":"2014-07-06T09:00:40","date_gmt":"2014-07-06T13:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=1249"},"modified":"2014-07-06T22:14:28","modified_gmt":"2014-07-07T02:14:28","slug":"peaceful-place-peacefilled-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/?p=1249","title":{"rendered":"Peaceful Place: Peacefilled You"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/natures-serenity.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-1250\" src=\"http:\/\/safaraf.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/natures-serenity-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>There is a setting that to each one of us encourages a deeper connection to our inner self.\u00a0 For some of us we find this place each week\u00a0when we attend our spiritual\u00a0institution\u00a0and\u00a0to our practice.<\/p>\n<p>I recently sought\u00a0 a place to be with my spiritual self\u00a0and attended an &#8220;Ashram&#8221;.\u00a0 My dear friend looked up the definition of an&#8221;Ashram&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0according to a sanskrit dictionary.\u00a0\u00a0He\u00a0(yes he reads sanskrit!)translated it as a &#8220;retreat, giving meaning of meaning, an effort towards liberation.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>This indeed is what I gained in my journey, a feeling of\u00a0being\u00a0liberated from what no longer serves me and connected\u00a0to what does.\u00a0 We don&#8217;t have to attend an &#8220;Ashram&#8221; to experience this.\u00a0 And in fact, it was the natural surroundings of the place I visited along with the people and my own creation of the space that made it so meaningful.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond formal institutions for reflection; there is that place we are all drawn to or should I say draws us into it ,to come and be with ourselves&#8230;it is nature.<\/p>\n<p>Nature welcomes everyone of any faith to come and\u00a0share in peace.\u00a0 It is our haven where we replenish ourselves with the abscence of our busy lives.\u00a0 We relax into the environment that we choose as our place for serenity and find that we are easily taken with a different pace and comfortable.\u00a0 We surrender to the tempo and as we do our bodies decompress and open up for us to enjoy such things as deeper breathes and restfilled sleeps.<\/p>\n<p>All of us need such opportunites with nature.\u00a0\u00a0 When we purposefully set our intentions on giving ourselves the gift of self- reflection we are acknowledging that our spirit is healthiest when we are in balance with our mind and body.<\/p>\n<p>We can tune into our bodies for signs of such needs.\u00a0 We may recognize them when we feel we are unable to concentrate, lack sleep, irritable, overwhelmed by the details of our lives and need an opportunity to\u00a0allow the space to be with our thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>So how can we maximize our time with nature?\u00a0 We can prepare by setting the intention to minimize our correspondence with others while we take such tiime for ourselves.\u00a0\u00a0We may ask our friends and family to respect our needs.<\/p>\n<p>Should we travel with others we may want to create a\u00a0time in our day for &#8220;silence.&#8221;\u00a0 This\u00a0can easily be practice during meal time where we can experience\u00a0further benefits to connect our body and mind thorugh our digestive process.\u00a0 Packing what is essential and leaving the rest at home can lighten our load.\u00a0 We may want to bring writing tools such as journals and books that encourage us to contemplate.\u00a0 In addition we may want to spe<\/p>\n<p>Take time for such moments within nature.\u00a0\u00a0Find your space to just BE and allow it to be your own.\u00a0 Create time for it.\u00a0 It will\u00a0repay you with\u00a0a\u00a0most precious gift;
